I recently installed Spybot and did a scan. Saw the junk and got rid of it. Then I went to update Windows and after the update, it prompted me to restart. This I did.

Then, as it restarted, it POST, went to the loading screen, then the screen blacked out, no thing. The monitor said no signal was detected on input 3. Is there anyway to solve this other than a reformat?

Thanks.

Have you tried pushing F8 and going into recovery mode even though it might not seem as if you have got the option avaiable?

Welcome to PC Help Forum.com Bear!

Ok. If your system is posting and getting as far as the Windows loading screen then we may be in luck.

1) Switch on
2) Right after the screen that shows your hard drives etc press F8
3) From the list choose "Last Known Good Configuration"

See here: http://www.petri.co.il/last_known_go...00_xp_2003.htm

I wonder what happened. Whether SpyBot actually caused the problem at all...

Try this and let us know what happens. :compress:

Guess so, seems to be holding. But I think I'll better back up all my data and files. Can't risk this again...........
