Default laptop screen broken.

can anyone help i cannot get my laptop to connect to a monitor,after the windows xp screen comes on it reverts back to the laptop screen, whch is broken need help desperatley. _link removed_

Hello tori, welcome to PCHF.

E-Mail link has been removed. Never a good idea to post your e-mail address in an open forum, this is how you get SPAM.

When Windows is live, all you need to do is hold down the [FN] key, followed by the monitor function key. This function key varies depending on the laptop you have, but it is normally F4 or F5 and may look something like:



Also, depending on the laptop, there may be an OSD display (which you won't be able to see because the screen is broken). So you will need to hold down the [FN] key and press this function key a number of times before releasing in order for it to switch.
