just got a new quad core desktop +++preinstalled software. what can i safely delete? i would like to clean it right up!

Pretty much anything that says "30 day trial" can go.

Norton, McAffe, Vongo, anything that wants you to pay for it can pretty much go. You can replace the Norton and whatnot with AVG FREE.

What I typically do to a new PC is format and install fresh without all that stuff, it's the fastest way to get the junk off. Don't try formatting if you don't know what you are doing!

is it possible to walk me through how to format?
i have already removed stuff but so much more to go. iam new to vista, just 2 days, i was using xp for years and would reinstall windows every few months and alwats deleted all the extras. i was usually left with just the basics.

Ok, the first thing you need before you even think about formatting is - Do you have a Windows XP/Vista CD?

no cd, but i made 3 recovery discs first time i turned it on.

Formatting may not be the best route for you right now. I would go with the thinning (i.e; un-installing) of surplus programs first.
