Ok I see Tech Team are a little busy at the moment so please be a little patient dont worry they will be here to help.

To past the time you may want to surf the forum and see what you may find to read, but please keep a watch on your thread for Tech Team posts.

But while you are here could you go to device manager and right click on the mouse and keyboard and click update driver.

Sounds good. Thanks.

I'm just working on another problem with my laptop in the meantime.

Hello Mike, welcome to PCHF.

I'm sorry to bring all of this bad news to you all at once, however JB is absolutely right, this base score is exactly what I would expect for a PC of this spec.

There's certainly nothing special there in terms of hardware, except for the fact you have 4gb of RAM.

You will not be able to utilise full DX10 on a Geforce 6150 card. Also, this card doesn't even make the minimum specifications to even play Devil May Cry 4. Full details of minimum and recommended spec's for this game can be found here: VGRequirements - System Requirements for Devil May Cry 4 (PC)

As for the the freezing when typing, this could be a number of issues. It's possible you could have a faulty keyboard (I've never been a great fan of these devices), but first double check the following:

1) Check the batteries of your keyboard. If the batteries are not charged enough to give the full voltage required to operate the keyboard, you may experience intermittent connection. You will sometimes notice this problem deteriorate until your batteries are completely dead. With other wireless devices, the wireless connection will just die all of a sudden.

2) Make sure it is not an application or process running in the background. Press [CTRL]+[ALT]+[DEL] and go to your Task Manager. Click on the CPU heading twice, and you'll notice that all of your the processes taking up the most CPU are at the top. What is not used will be classed as a "System Idle Process".

You can move this window out of the way and continue with your Word document as normal. Once it freezes, take a look at your Task Manager, and see which process is eating up your CPU.

I've been working with the task manager open and I don't notice any memory spikes during the keystroke malfunctions. I'm thinking the keyboard has to be defunct. I will have to call the manufacturer tomorrow.

Is there any chance that one of my programs could have memory leak somewhere in it?

hmmm, yes, you can check your memory usage in Task Manager, under Performance tab, and monitor your total available physical memory whilst you have all your applications open. It should not decrease whilst idle. Seriously doubt this would be the issue here though.
