Hello all! I'm hoping that someone will be able to help me with this persistant problem . . . .
I have a Toshiba Sat P300 series laptop running Vista Home Premium, 4 gig ram, 2.5ghz and 600 gig hard drive.
After logging onto my profile it takes over 5 minutes before I can use any Windows or installed applications or connect to the internet. My desktop, taskbar and stuff load up fine but I cannot click on anything or connect for ages.
I didn't have this problem after I first made my user profile, and if I use a second profile it all loads up super fast. I've disabled everything in startup using msconfig and it still happens, but if I choose diagnostic startup it loads very fast.
Also . . . if I check the performance details in the event log via control panel it has over 700 events, mostly warnings and several critical warnings all having something to do with the shutdown and logon process. Included are some of the events mentioned:
