Turn on automatic updates as in links.Before downloading SP1 please get as many updates from Microsoft as possible.This may take a few searches,downloads and installs before you download and install SP1.

im trying to attach the log but it keeps saying invalid file..

Hello captain,

Make sure the files start with "mini" and normally end with ".dmp". If not, then you have the wrong file! Any screenshots may help if you encounter further problems, instructions also on my signature.

i have just found out that my update failed last time so im redoing it, so i will go back to the updates first..

ahh, that file (memory.dmp) will be to big to attach here, they can sometimes be gigabytes in size.

- Go to My Computer, Control Panel, System followed by Advanced tab.
- Under “Startup and Recovery”, click Settings.
- Under “System failure”, make sure Write and event to the system log is ticked.
- Under “Write debugging information”, make sure Small Memory Dump is selected.

You'll then need to wait for the next coupld of Blue Screens before attaching the latest logs. Instead of attaching a full "memory.dmp" file, you will see something similar to mini080716.dmp instead, which will be located in c:\windows\minidump.
