Exclamation 2x whammy bootup problem

Ok I know how to fix some problems when it appears in an OS but when its behind the OS like back into DOS mode or BIOS then iam ******. Yes I too ran into the same Vista SP1 update I have found a solution its just involves deleting the corrupted files that MS treats as messing files so that Vista SP1 update can auto-matically replace them and continue with the installation. Which this has started in dec. 07 still customers are slowly running into the same problem the error code would look something like this " !!0xc0190036!! 611/68831(heLpane.exe). Thats just 1 of my boot up problems the other is my *** PC not booting normally periode!!! >_<

I think the term is cold booting when u 1st start up ur pc but when ur rebooting to add another menu options from a CD or DVD disk then it wont fully reboot like from a warm boot, it just blacks out with the annoying long beebs while running. I don't see how the beebing is my memory because i have 2 gigs in before i had this major problem. I did have 512mb of ram when my pc booted normally but the 2nd i tried replacing 512mb with 3 gigs cause i have 3 DDR2 slots. My Mobo freaked and started beebing well i took 1 of the ram sticks out cause oops it fried my ram slot I don't know how but it did. So 2nd idea was use the 2nd ram slot as the 1st and just go with 2 gigs. Well dam it neither 2 ram sticks are bad but the rebooting screwed up and beebing never stopped. LOL
I say my PC should never accept the other 2 ram slots if the 1st 1 is broke. Unfornatly it did accept them both and i was able to use my PC for awhile. My only problem after that was when i had to reboot for Vista updates i have to manually reboot by powering down and then back up.

So its nice for some action to require rebooting over and over to fix a error problem but my darn PC can't Compute either one.
It got so bad to where i accidently pressed F10 during the MS green loading screen and to hell if i know what it caused. xD Was aiming for a magically command prompt window lol. I think I opened the wrong place?
Iam afraid iam left with only 1 choice sense I can boot up from a cold boot and my pc refuses to run any cd now or continue with any SP1 action. That I gotta start from scratch unless you know of a redo button in the bios to fix my booting problems????
I have asked MS and a good friend about my issue even done tons of research online which makes my head ache xD Can u guys help me fix my double whammy issue??? Please
I have a ASUS mobo was made in 2002 uses Award BIOS and none of the safemodes work but I do get a fail safe thingy in the begginig before the BIOS appears on booting.
Any DOS gurus on???

Does anyone care ??? So sry if iam not one of your bronze members but this problem is driving me crazy. I can't reboot from a Floppy Drive to something in DOS without my comp bsoding each time. At least tell me if reloading my bios helps any ??? Or start the fail safe thingy in bios. I found this site looking for answers or solutions and i refuse to pay geek squad or the rip-off computer repair companies to charge me $150 to tell me weither or not my computer is plugged in to an outlet or not!!!

Hi c00L,

Have you tried booting from Vista CD and doing a repair installation?

If not try that first - if it doesn't fix your problem you may need to put your hard drive into another computer to back up your data. Then put the drive back in your computer and reinstall vista.

Otherwise you could try recovery console to remove the files you are talking about. You would need to know what the file names and where they are located. I'm not too sure what your talking about here - if you could provide a little more information that would be great. Perhaps a link to what your referring to.
