Well yes and no.It is a personal choice.

I installed SP1 on Vista Ultimate 64 bit,oh boy wish I had not it crashed my computer and tried all the fix,s.Nothing worked but I managed a clean install,fully updated system via drivers and updates then reinstalled SP1.I have had no trouble since.

As far as I can tell some times SP1 becomes corrupt during download.Microsoft should sort there problems out.Although turning off firewall and maybe virus/spyware scanner could solve the problem of the corruption.

Do I see a diffence with SP1?Nope not realy.

Others can give you there opinion on this subject.
