Open Media player...
under Tools/Options/Library
Monitor Folders button
Advanced-- you can add/remove which folders you want monitored... if any.

Just pare it down to My music-- or whatever.
When I install-- I always select the advanced install-- so I can deny any stuff I don't want...like their "music Store" nonsense.

Thanks, But i have another problem not related to this. When ever i decide to go organize some files/folders after a bit of moving files/folders or just cuting/pasting/copying windows explorer will eventually crash?
