Windows Vista - Driver Issues... posted in the Operating Systems forums; Do not activate just install Xp then install vista.Then activate Vista. You can only wipe it via laptop if you buy convert cables or case to make HDD external....

Do not activate just install Xp then install vista.Then activate Vista.

Right so install XP as far as the product key, Then just pop the VISTA disk in and it should run? Do i just click install as normail??? Sorry for being so clueless i've not had any dealings with vista and wish i never did now

Well product key is required to install XP.

Once installed then restart the install process for Vista.

Cant find the cd key, it will not let u get past that point...If i go out and buy a new SATA HDD will VISTA formatte it whilst installing the OP system?

If you are using a full Vista DVD then yes a new hard drive should fix the problems you are having.
