Hey all.

Please can you help me, my pc is acting very strangly. I have Vista installed and all the updates have been completed.
Sometimes it wont log off or shut down. When I go online i can get my Virgin homepage up no problem, but if you try and get to another page either through a link or by typing into the task bar, it wont connect, it will hang and the progress bar at the bottom creeps along very slowly, or wont move at all. If this happens and I try and shut down IE it either willl not work or it will close and then I get the message that IE has stopped working, and will restart again on its own, even though i shut it down and then this is when it wont log off or shut down and i have to manually switch it off and leave it for a while and then start it again, sometimes it runs perfectly and other times it just gives up.

My PC is six months old and has good anti virus and firewalls, I have run my anti - virus and checked nearly everyday and it is clean so what is going on?

Please help?, I am a single mother and cannot afford to get the geek squad in to fix it?

Recommend you download and install this program (it's free) CCleaner ... Alternative Download.
1. After installing...run the program...click on Analyzer...then click on Run Cleaner.
2. On the left side of the window, click on Registry...click on Scan for issues...click on Fix selected issues.

This program will cleanup your temp files and cookies.

Also, to help us help you, recommend you go to the Control Panel via the Member Menu on the left side of this window.

Click on Edit Options.

Fill in the System Specs information.

If you are not sure what to enter, click on the < What's inside my PC?> link in my signature.
The Belarc report will give you all the hardware and software information about your computer.

My Son downloads a lot of screen clips and facebook pages and things like that, is this what is damaging my Pc?

Hi Laura it cleans out any old files it dont halm your computer.

If your son has been downloading a lot of items from face book etc then I sugest you do the "Prework" the link below on my signiture in red.
