Post Going to Flash Bios on my machine but have never done with a windows vista machine

Hello all I know I know don't flash unless you have too

I currently have and AMD Phenom with the 2.3 ghz processor.with an MSI Mainboard.

However I am going to be upgrading to the higher processor. I need to have Bios Version 1.4. in order to run it. I currently have version 1.2. This is ther version I see upon boot and when post is done.

I have a K9A2 Platinum motherboard from MSI
MS.7376 ver 1.0 these are the specs I pulled off the mother board. I have downloaded the propper flash file but I am at a loss for what to do when You decided not to use a floppy drive.

I would like to know what programs to use in order to do this flash correctly and with out incident. If I Flash the bios and I do it wrong we all know I am screwed. So If any one can tell me what programs to load to my CD drive and how to execute this with out incident. thank you.

I don't imagine it is very different from XP --
the thing is... never, never use any utility to flash a BIOS from within Windows.
I always use a floppy disc/usb pen drive-- or the like something that is easily made bootable.
I have flashed many a BIOS and the only time I had an issue was when I tried their BIOS-flash utility. They are useless.

I always use the bootable-media method.

Another tip-- Read your Motherboard's user forums-- many have useful tips.
