Hey guys,

I've had my new computer for about a month or so and just over the past couple days I have noticed when I restart the computer everything loads fine up to the screen that allows you to choose which user you want. Once I select the user, the computer loads my background color (not my picture) and then it takes about 5 minutes to bring up all my icons, background picture, programs, etc. It didn't do this before, so I don't know why it is doing it now. Any ideas what could be slowing it down and anyway to speed it up? Thanks guys!

Hey bud, open the start menu and type MSCONFIG in the box, navigate to the Startup tab, and show me a screenshot of the whole thing (expand it if you can to show me all the boxes)

Sorry it has taken so long to reply. It is still taking a long time to load but mainly now before the screen to pick which user and shut down has been slower also. I have defraged the hard drive and registry files, run anit-virus scans, etc and I have tried restore points, but everytime I try it, the computer says it was unable to go to previous restore point. Here is the best I could do with the pictures. I wasn't able to expand it fully.

Uncheck them all, hit apply&ok and then reboot, and see if it loads faster

okay, I tried that and it didn't help. Any thing else I can try?

What type of security software do you have installed? Any Norton products? Especially like, Norton Ghost?

I do have the Norton Anti-virus program that came with the computer. Not sure about Norton Ghost though.

I can see you can uncheck a few things like itune,Nero,xbox,Norton.
