Hi there, whenever I try to install a programme such as office 2007 or adobe reader etc all I get is the following:

Error 1935. An error occurred during the installation of assembly

typed it exactly as it appears. I've read that it could be antivirus software stopping the installation, so i disabled it and even went so far as to delete mcafee altogether, still no joy. I also read that it was something to with a .net update, however windows update doesn't work for some reason now. It says it needs to download a programme to make the updates work but then that doesn't do anything! I read that a fix was available for windows update error 8000b or something, however the fix installed then said it failed!

I don't know what to do and I feel like smashing everything I see to do with MS! haha

Any help please?! I've got college assignments coming up and can't do them without Word?!

It's on Vista, it worked fine previously, however my laptop had to be wiped and reinstalled due to my router cocking things up completely, since then it won't let me install these programmes?!

Did you try the obvious of right clicking on the icon and choosing Run As
administrator ?

I've not seen that error before, so you might try re-downloading that file,
they technically have a Vista ready version.

Tried everything, it's not just that it's a few programmes, it just rolls back and uninstalls everything, really beginning to annoy me!

OK first go to the windows icon in the bottom left corner.

next go to control panel

next under user accounts & Family safety click "add or remove user accounts"

Click add new account

enter a user name

select the administrator button

click create account


then log in under that name, re download the program and install. let us know if it worked.

or id u didn't delete the other installation file from ur other account, transfer the file over to ur new account, which will save a small amount of hard drive space and time downloading.

im not good with Vista because i dont use it.. but im sure its similar.
