Hello All. I have recently bought a computer with an 80gb hard drive, naturally they have supplied it split into C for boot drive and D, 34gb on each. I do not normally use partitions and have already accrued a large number of datafiles and only have 7gb left on my C drive. I do not really want two drives and have tried to move all the gb from D to C. I have used Vista's inbuilt tool to try to do this, I shrank the D drive by the allowed 17gb and now have "unallocated" space. I clicked on the C drive to move it to this however the expand option is grey and will not let me do this. How can I move all the gb to the C boot drive or (without sounding to PC dumb) move the data/mp3 files to other partition? Thank you in advance for help

as long as all your data is on c you can delete the d partition in disk management then it will allow you to expand into that space

Thank you very much for the help, it worked ! (without wishing to sound suprised) Was reluctant to delete as did not want to lose completley, however as stated it did still class as unallocated and I was then allowed to expand the C drive. Have been searching web for ages for answer, glad I found this site. Again thank you for your help.
