Well my question is, would installing vista again fix my DLL and explorer problem?
and also would my 5000 songs be erased and all of my photographs? D:

If you do do an install and do not format the old windows folder will be named windows.old and your files will remain intact however the system will be a mess but it should work

whats the point of installingjust vista without a reformat, you said it would just be a mess and my DLLs would be screwed up still.
I'm sorry, im just very angry and confused.

Simon I realy realy sorry.

This is a sloution not a great one but to get you up and running so you can have access to your files/your music.This is a short term solution.

I would sugest this to get you up and running so you can get to your files and put to disk or an external drive as in backup all these precious files.

The fix is temp for now then once you have all your files saved else were then do a complete reinstall and this should resolve the problems.

I hope this explains things a little better?

No I said your windows directory would be renamed windows.old which means all the files inside will no longer be used as windows and a new windows will be installed. The messy system can be cleaned up but thats for another day. If you want to go down this route install vista and come back with any problems after.

Oh, i get it.
Also on another forum someone suggested that when i copied the explorer i got off internet for the theme, it coulda been holding a virus, that made my PC eff up really badly?
Could that be it? and if so, do you know a way without having to run applications that i can rid of it?

thank you both very much for your time, it seems my only options to reformat my hard drive.
The easiest way, i suppose, i guess i'll have to spend a bunch of hours using my 2gb HD to switch my files from this pc to my crappy one.

Well, all im going to take is my photos+music, If there is a virus, IF being the key word, it originated in explorer,exe which i took from that person, although i dont really believe now thats what happened.
When you screw up your DLL's this happens right?

It proberly is all to do with your DLLs.

You can scan the files at a later date lets get you up and running again.
