Hey Guys
I have bought a game called Battlefield 2 and had it for a while now. I have recently bought a new computer with windows Vista on it. I play Battlefield on XP before and had no problems at all. I now try to go on to the server and i get on and then get kicked for having "inadiquite O/S privliges". I am the administrator on the computer and have the old user on the computer. Does anyone no how i can resolve the problem?
help would be appreactiaded.

Hello Pieman, welcome to PCHF.

BF2 was not designed for Vista, it was released sometime before. The problem is actually being caused by it's associated Punkbuster application. You may be able to get around the problem by using one or both of the following methods:

Method 1
- Go to Control panel, User Accounts.
- At the bottom, look for "Disable or Enable UAC", untick and restart you PC.

Method 2
- Right click on the BF2 icon, go to Properties, followed by the Compatibility tab.
- Click on "Run this program as Administrator".

might be worth running in compat mode for winxp also.

I recently sold the game. Had my own BF2 ranked server for some time too, but I stopped playing it after my subscription expired. I was put of by some of the server admin's, who would kick you for killing them too many times!! You missed the good old cheating days as well, people hiding inside walls, it was crazy! I was unstopable in a heli, no so good on foot. Definately the best gaming experience I've had on the PC though I have to say.
