Open your Device Manager
Click on View
Click on Show hidden devices
In front of each category, is there a + in a box?
If the category has a - in a box, then the device listed needs to be deleted, then you need to reboot so Windows can reinstall the device correctly.

In your Control Panel, click on Sound.
Are Speakers/Headphones selected?

Double click on Speakers/Headphones
Click on Custom tab
Is PC Spk Mute selected?

Select Sound...Playback...(Check mark on Speakers/Headphones)...click on Configure
Click on Test

Well, we have found the cause of the problem...see my attachment.
You're missing the device/drivers for the Speakers/Headphones.
I will have to investigate how to get your Speakers/Headphones recognized.
I will get back to you when I have found something, unless one of the PCHF Brainiacs beat me to it.
