Please be gentle I’m not the most tech savvy, I recently got a new laptop with vista on and from the moment I turned it on I am unable to download anything from a P2P program( Ares, lime wire,) bit torrent, or even receive files from friends over msn. What makes this weirder to me is that whenever I open one of these programs, or attempt to receive a file my internet explorer/fire fox won’t connect to any pages! They simple time out, and the only way I can fix this is to restart my system. My firewall is disabled and this problem happens both wirelessly and at home. Before I do something like go back to XP I was wondering if there is any advice for me.
