Default MS updates...

Good afternoon, I've recently bought my laptop (Fujitsu) running Vista and in the last few weeks, none of my Automatic updates have been installing.
Synaptics - Other Hardware - Synaptics PS/2 Port TouchPad

Installation date: ‎14/‎03/‎2008 10:47

Installation status: Failed

Error details: Code 80070103

Update type: Recommended

Synaptics Other Hardware software update released in December, 2007
This is what I keep getting. I also tried to install service pack 1, but that also failed, and deleted my audio driver(but have got that back). Any ideas why this may be happening and if there are any solutions other than using the recovery disc ?
Anything would be great,
Ben

Hello and welcome to PC Help Forum.

You may need to go to Microsoft wab site and download windows installer for vista.

Have you turned on Automatic Updates on your machine?

It's installing most updates, the one it never does is the above mentioned. And I tried to download the service pack manually. Updates are on.
