I am having a strange problem with my internet browser after I install windows vista update. Before the update, i have no problems with my browser, all is good.....after the upgrade, I can get on to the internet, but I cannot log into any sites (facebook, yahoo, hotmail etc..) also the internet gets very slow....

I have spent multiple hours on the phone with my internet provider, and their solution is to not take an upgrade and run the system restore to before the upgrade. When I do this, it works and I have complete accress again, but now I cannot upgrade Vista without losing my browing capabilities.....

Can anyone tell me if there is a fix to this problem?? I am using both foxfire and IE 7 and I have the same problem..

Recommend you download and install this program (it's free) CCleaner ... Alternative Download.
1. After installing...run the program...click on Analyzer...then click on Run Cleaner.
2. On the left side of the window, click on Registry...click on Scan for issues...click on Fix selected issues.

Next, I'd disable the Addons.
Disable all of them at one time to see if that fixes the problem.
You don't need the addons for IE to work.
If that fixes the problem, then you can turn them back on one at a time until the problem reoccurs if you want.

Does it say what the updates are or what they do?

reset all web settings. Control panel /internet options/advanced/ restore advanced setting after you have done what Gandalf said
