Default [Resolved] Help Setting Up Multiboot System

Hey guys! I just got a new computer with Windows Vista on it. My old computer only had Windows 98 and I have a bunch of games that I would like to play on my new computer that are Windows 2000/XP only. (My old computer was never powerful enough to run the other games.) Anyways, so I tried playing some of the games on my new computer with Vista and a lot of them don't work correctly. So I figured I could set up a Multiboot System on my new computer with Vista. I made a partition for XP and I have XP. When I put the CD in to install it, it says that I can't install an older version of windows. Is there anyway besides deleting Windows Vista that I can install Windows XP on my partition and have a Multiboot system? Thanks guys!

Also, have you tried running the games in compatibility with XP SP2? To do so, just right click the game and select Properties. Click the Compatibility tab and check the box that says Run this program in compatibility for:. Make sure Windows XP Service Pack 2 is selected (or whatever version will run it) and click Ok. This should allow it to work.

Regards,
Adam

Is there instructions anywhere that walks you through the dual boot process?
I know when you would Dual boot XP and 2000 you installed XP first.
If i were to do Dual boot with Vista and Xp does it matter if one is first?

Hi, it doesn`t really matter which one you install firts, BUT, its much much easier to install XP first as Vista takes over the system, boot wise... heres a link for dual booting XP and Vista with XP installed first How to dual-boot Vista with XP - step-by-step guide with screenshots

Its what i used to set up dual booting

The link you gave was if XP was installed first.
I can't get XP to recognize the HDD at all so I am going with Vista first
Here are those instructions.

I have tried the combatibility option and one game that I have will still not play even after I have tried this. I may have to try what madmatt2006 suggested. I'm still kinda lost though.

I tried to install it in Windows Vista. So I need to restart the computer with the Windows XP disc in and try that?
