Default [Resolved] Vista reboot problem?

Has anyone seen this problem before?
I reinstalled Vista OS and it boots up ok from a cold start but a reboot seems to go into hiberation mode. Some time the power lite is the only lite on and some times both the power lite and the HD lite is on. The only way out is to hold down on the power button until it powers off and then do a cold power up.
I do not believe it hardware.
the version of Vista is Home Premium.

Thanks

Another thing to be aware of in Vista is that when you click
Start...Shut Down...
The default option for the query What do you want the computer to do? is Sleep
To select Restart, you need to drop down the option list and click on Restart

Well as we all know Vista is a dog just like window ME was.
Looks like installing my Linksys wireless drivers caused this problem.
