Default Windows DVD Maker

Ive just burnt my first dvd using that software since i got my pc, it took like 3 hours or something stupid, does it always take that long..? as ive never burnt a dvd before using any software im unsure as to time taken, but surly shouldnt be that long... any tips to speed it up.... maybe something else i could use thats good etc....

I'm no expert by a very long way but i use DVD SANTA it converts my avi movies to dvd's in less than an hour.
You can get a trial version and if you like it you can buy the full version for next to nothing.
