hey guys here i am again want to ask you some solution to my problems.. just yesterday I bought an HP/compaq notebook model V3500 presario with a Windows Vista basic and I have an External HDD to for backup my files when i plug in it on my new notebook it cannot displayed in "my computer" then i check it on "computer management" the file system was RAW. The HDD have a original NTFS file system and i plug in to my other laptop HP pavillon DV6707 windows vista premium it works well, I plug in also to my roommate desktop windows xp sp2 and asus notebook windows vista basic notebook works well also.

my question is what and how i can explore this HDD to my new notebook?

Hi have you tried shutting down the Vista PC/laptop then rebooting while HDD is still connected?
Did a driver pack come with this HDD?You may need to download a driver or install one?


Just a comment:
(If you have removed the hard drive without powering down properly you may have corrupted the drive causing it to show the drive as raw(unformatted) the only way to correct this maybe to format the drive again)

i try to put other harddrives on it but sad to say its the same what would be the problems? I practice all of procedures you given to me but no working.

Im not sure wether its to do with 32 bit/64/NTFS?

They All woork with XP?
If it is a blank drive as in no files have you tried formatting it while in disk management?Via Vista?

sorry for late reply bout what u said i did not try to format yet but there something more on this proble. i cannot install any games on it. the NFSMW/NFSC/call of duty.
So i decided to reformat and again restore new installation of vista and I'll tell you what would be happen..

finally I got it... I've use a recovery and it Run so good I can open HDD and Install games on it.
