I am considering installing vista on my machine and I am wondering if vista still has compatibility issues.

I think a lot of them have been ruled out now on the 32-bit version. But everyone i know who has vista tells me not to bother with it a lot of them saying: "Its just XP with a new GUI" One person even said: "I upgraded back to XP." For what reasons were you planing to upgrade?

Edit: If there is any peripherals or software that you are wanting to know if they are compatible with vista the best thing to do will be to google it =)

I recently began using Windows Vista (64-bit at that) and have installed and tried plenty of software. The single program that has ever failed to install was ZoneAlarm Firewall, and if you get 32-bit that won't even be a problem. Even that wasn't a devastating incompatibility. I'm actually much happier with Vista than I ever was with XP.
