Default Windows Vista/Outlook express?

Hi!

Not sure which forum is appropriate for my query so I apologise if I have posted to wrong one..

I've just purchased a pc with Windows Vista (all running fine - could get emails, etc) and I gave my old pc, running XP, to a friend. Friend is using a different ISP so I set up Outlook Express account on that pc with his email address and username and the appropriate POP3/SMPT mail servers for that ISP. This enabled my friend to receive email. When I got home I found that I couldn't receive my email. I had to change my friend's outlook express account entries again to my address and mail server addresses. I can now get email again but friend can't. I want my friend to be able to get email but I am also concerned that my friend can access my mail and prevent me from getting mail if friend alters the outlook express account detail. What have I missed? I'd really appreciate advice on this.

Hi the only way that could happen is if your using the same username and password very weird!! If your using a different username and password on the mail accounts it should work and there is no way you can get each others mail.

Hi Madmatt thanks for your interest. It is weird and I am anxious about the problem. I suppose what I am looking for is how to remove my username and password from outlook express on my friend's pc without it affecting the outlook account that my ISP mail server references. Could the problem be because I haven't installed my friend's ISP software which sets up his email accounts but (on what is now his computer) have signed in on my usual ISP page and have then logged into email with his account details?
