Default [Answered] RAM Question

Bought another stick of RAM in order to improve my computer but having problems and wondered if this is an issue.

Both sticks have a varying amount of chips on them.

They are exactly the same size and speed but my original stick has 16 chips of 64MB and my new one has 8 chips of 128MB.

Potential Problem?

Default Re: RAM Question

Are you running Dual-channel ?
That would be the only issue...if running in dual-channel sticks must be identical.
What issue are you having ??
what mobo make/model ?
Ram make/ model/ speed ?

Default Re: RAM Question

as long as they are the same speed, and the same size, they will work. The amount of chips on them has no correlation, as long as they stick is the same capacity as the others. (1GB + 1GB)
