Default [Answered] Vista Validation Problems

I recently built my first from scratch computer, finally got it running, installed windows and started downloading all the necessities and updates.

Upon restarting my computer I found that a message saying that Windows Aero was not working and that I may be victim of a bad copy of windows.

It now shows

Windows Vista (TM)
Build 6000
This copy of Windows is not geniune

I absolutely know I have a good copy of windows, when i go to validate it, it shows validation complete. I have the proof of license sticked with the product key on it, the genuine, WEIRD looking installation disc and everything.

Is there something im doing wrong in my build? I dont believe at all that this is a bad copy of windows, i bought it from tigerdirect.com.

Any help would be great, thank you.

HI welcome to PCHF The best thing to do in this case is to contact MS so the can get it going for you. If your copy is legit you have nothing to worry about

Hi Bluefalconloyd, welcome to the PCHF.

This is a bit beyond our support forums to be honest. I highly recommend you call Microsoft, and speak to them over the phones.

Their support staff are really helpful, and this issue won't cost you anything (or shouldn't at any rate).

I think I've actually found the problem. I installed an OEM System Builder Pack.

it says i needed to install an OPK first, does this have anything to do with it? i dont have the OPK disc either, it wasnt shipped with my copy of windows, should it of been?

Hi Bluefalcon,

No, this won't have any effect on the install. I've never isntalled that CD before and never have a problem.
Your best and quickest solution will be to call MS directly and talk with them.

They'll have you sorted out with minimum fuss, and i mean in like, 20 minutes time of time frame.
