Default [Resolved] Can't type "@"
K, my aunt wont give me her old laptop until her knew one works, so I need some help getting her new one to work.

She was typing in her email address and when she got to "@" all her programs closed.

Then I had her type it while no programs were open, and all her icons disappeared. They came back after she restarted it.

Tomorrow shes coming over so I can try typing it while running a live CD.

Anybody have a clue whats wrong? I'm hoping its a problem with Vista and not the laptop.

sounds like a virus of some sort. im not an expert,though i have not heard of such a virus. if you do not have anti-virus, download AVG Free 7.5 and run it, save the log, then follow the prework in my signature, and post it here. thanks

K, I tried Ubuntu and typed it fine, so I know its not the keyboard. I'll go download AVG now.

Edit:Scan came up with nothing...
