i have a vista laptop and i got a printer for it and the printer says "vista Compatible" it' s a Hp Deskjet 4200 series i can get it to work i installed the driver Cd ne help?
that didn't work. it's weird when the printer is connected and i lift the up the cover it says on computer "cover open" so ovusoly it detecting it but when i print it says "data not valid" or "cannot Print" what i do?
Try this with the printer plugged in go into device manager and remove all printer listed there it may be listed a few times once removed shutdown the PC while the PC is shut down unplug the USB cord between the printer and the PC leave it unplugged. Turn the PC back on go back to device manager and check the printer is not still listed if not plug the printer back into the PC via the USB cable while the PC is on turn the printer on windows will say it has found the new hardware and reinstall it.
Did that work?
