I just purchased and installed Windows Vista Home Basic.

Sombody last week told me that all versions of windows vista came with DX10.

When I started up Counter-Strike: Source and went into video settings it said I was using DX9 and the option to change it was greyed out.

I know it's not a DX10 game, but does this mean I dont have DX10?

I have an 8800 GT so it's not my video card.

You do have DX10, it does come with all versions of Windows Vista.
The option was greyed out because CSS isn't a DX10 game so you can't use dx10 with it.
