Hi i have upgraded to windows vista premium 64 bit version and I'm having problems connecting my modem which is a speed touch 330. My boardband provider is orange and I'm living in n.Ireland is there any drivers that i should try ?, or is there any think else i could try. I have searched the net and found some drivers but when i installed them nothing happened the red lights stayed on the modem.

I found this... please note that

with Vista the procedure is "very important"

First i wasn't sure which drivers to install (vista drivers or windows xp 64 bit drivers) as my vista is the 64 bit version, so i went ahead and installed the vista drivers i got as far as the green lights coming on, on my modem and then typed in my user name and password but got the message saying that an error occurred and that i should click on back to try again, i done this but still couldn't connect, What should i do now ?

Did you follow the EXACT procedure listed in the link I gave you before?
If not-- you must UNinstall the drivers-- reboot
and start over from scratch.
Then you must follow the directions EXACTLY here:
Speedtouch 330 Drivers (inc Vista)

Vista is a pain about driver installs.

Yes i followed the EXACT instructions and have tried unistalling it and reinstalling it, i just get as far as the computer accepting the modem and when i try to connect using my user name and password- (which works find on my windows xp computer), i get an error message saying to hit back to try again or cancel to uninstall and reinstall the software which i have tried many times with no success.

Its funny that i had to connect a 32 bit vista computer to the net using my modem and i had no problems with it using the disk i got from orange. I have tried this disk with the 64 bit machine but i get a message have ways through set up saying that it does not support 64 bit.

I'm lost now and can't see what is going wrong?

You just answered your own issue right there-- if it does not support 64 bit-- you cannot use it-- no matter what you do. Drivers must be compatible with their Operating System -- just as you cannot run Linux drivers in Windows XP... if that computer code does not work-- there's nothing you or I can do.
The Vista 64-bit-- is a very new Operating System-- drivers and therefore their hardware have not caught up yet

Yes i know that is what is happening with the disk that i got from orange for my windows xp connections, but what im saying is that i can get the vista computer to accept the modem but im still having connection problems. Again i will have to conntact my ISP. Thanks anyway for your help.
