Ok so i put in the OS cd and it all started going and after a 2 hour install of XP thats usaly about 25 minutes, it was all working really slow like 5sec just to pop up a menu and stuff and about 10min just to start up in XP. So if at all posibal is there a faster way to do this. And tanks for the remote offer.

What are the specs of you PC if you have heaps of ram? in the Virtual PC console click settings increase the memory to at least 512MB or moreif you have it I run mine on a quad core with 4Gb of ram it takes 5-8 seconds to boot works very well.

In the setting for the virtual PC do you have performance listed? If you do select it and set it to run virtual PC at maximum speed

curently i only have 766Mb ram so its going to be slow, it will only alow me to use up to 253Mb for the VPC. But I do really like this software the hole idea of having two computers in one is vary cool.

So there is not much i can do about the ram thing,

I don't know if you have noticed this or if its just me but my computer is faster runing Vista vs. XP everything from videos to opening programs.

I'd recommend getting more ram for your PC a what type of CPU is in your PC? or multiboot might be faster there is a guide here Dual Boot Vista and XP with Vista already installed - SysChat But I prefer Virtual PC

Ya id love to put some more ram in my PC (along with new everything) but right now i have to save for a car and my mom would be like "you don't need all that stuff think about what is inportent" even though its my money she has a point. But once i get a car ill probaly start to save so i can build a new computer from the ground up, and also get a laptop (im thinking dell right now). I have this freind that would love to have my computer so i gusse i could sell it to him and make some money there. any way im blabing...

I just put $300 worth of parts in last fall i think it was

I had this stuff laying around:
Celeron 2.81 Ghz CPU
old Case (id love to get a shutle case)
Power supply
2 DVD burners
256Mb DDR ram

What I got to go with all that was:
Seagate 100Gb HDD
Biostar P4M80-M4 MoBo
Kworld PCI HDTV TV tuner (somtimes slow i think its my CPU and ram)
512Mb DDR ram
and a Diamond Radeon 9550 256Mb AGP (pretty crappy but i have not tryed the DVI so it may be better)

not to bad for $300 it gets me by, im not into gameing but I am addicted to Autodesk Inventor and i wish that could be faster (3-D rendering is slow even with low part counts).
