Default [Resolved] out of sleep-mode

Hi!

I have a problem with a laptop with Vista Home Premium on it.
Whenever I close the laptop it's goes in sleep-mode (or standby? I think it is the first but I'm not sure)...when I open the laptop again and I press a key the screen is black but doesn't become active. The only thing I can do is the powerbutton to shut down the laptop. Normally I would get the loginscreen to enter my password...
Is this problem because of the drivers of the videocard (ati x1300)?
I'll try to update them but maybe it is something else?

Robin

If you are using un-signed drivers for the X1300, then try the official Vista drivers and see if the problem persists.

Well, I didn't change the drivers of the videocard ever, so maybe is the card reconised by Vista and has Vista installed the drivers on its own.

Did this start happening recently? If so, can you carry out a System Restore to a time when it wasn't faulty?

Yes it started recently, I didn't think of restore yet but it's worth a try. only, the laptop is quite new so I have changed a lot recently. i don't want to loose that. Though, if I can't find a solution I'll use it...
I'm now updating the drivers from the laptop manufacturers website...

Hmm...I've updated the drivers and when I closed the laptop I thought the problem was solved until...it started again some time later. Luckely I discovered that the problem occurs because of uTorrent. Everytime this program is active (downloading) and I close the laptop is goes wrong. In stead of going into sleepmode the laptop gets stuck some between active and sleepmode...
Is there a way to fix this or do I have to close uTorrent everytime when I close the laptop (heaven forbid )?
I'll post also on the uTorrent forum but it would be great if the problem can be solved here...

Robin
