Default [Pending] Mystery Windows Photo Gallery error

Hello there,

My computer is being rather annoying - I've just been downloading some pictures from my camera phone, and when I try to edit (and then save) them using the features in the Windows Photo Gallery, it says "An error is preventing Photo Gallery from saving this picture." before undoing any changes and going to the next picture.

I don't understand what's doing this. The images aren't protected and I don't think they're being used by another program... any ideas??

Thanks for your time.

Adam

Hi, I read somewhere that certain anti-virus products can cause this conflict, namely Kaspersky..are you using that particular AV product?

Nah I use Avast. Just to be sure, I updated the anti-virus, then just tried turning it off, but the problem is still there.

Any more suggestions? Thanks again.

Hi bllipp, try holding down the Windows Key while you hit R and type in sfc /scannow
(there is a space between sfc and /scannow)

Make sure you have your Vista CD handy.

Erm... nothing happens? A command prompt window quickly opens and then closes.

I opened run, typed in sfc /scannow clicked OK, then nothing.
