Default Windows Vista network access issue

I have an issue were if you have Windows Vista on a pc, acting as a Server, or using Vista Business as a server, if you log into our program on that server, it doesnt allow ANY workstations to log in - says the network path is unavailable.

However

If you log the workstation in first, then log the server onto the program, it works fine.

This though, causes another problem.

You can only log 1 or 2 computers into our software with Vista acting as a server.

This also seems to affect Microsoft Access databases.

Anyone ever come across this or know what may be the cause?

Thanks

Hi Mike, welcome to the PCHF.

If I understand correctly - this is by design.
Microsoft are trying to encourage people from using Desktop Operating Systems as server environments.

I've not personally come accross this myself, but I do know that Windows Server OS's don't have this problem.
