Hi im a newbie on this site but hoping for great things,ive been using a Dell E521 for just under a month and have managed to pick up a problem with my sound,No Audio Output Device Is Installed,has become a right pain in the a##,when trying to fix on my own i get told the device is working??any ideas or do you need more info,would be grateful if someone can help........

Can you do the following; Click on the Vista "Start" button and then type run into the search box. In the run box, type devmgmt.msc and hit enter. Look down the list and tell me if there are any "error" tags next to any of the hardware in that list. Also, expand the Sound, Video and game controllers list and tell me what you have listed as your sound card.
