Default [Resolved] Installation Nightmare!

Aye,

So I bought Vista Ultimate on Windows Martplace thingy, downloaded, burned to a DVD, put it in, started to boot, took bloody forever, closed it, booted back into XP, and I had read that I can install Vista from a USB drive in about 20mins, so I took my trusted 4Gbs Corsair Voyager drive, popped it in, copied all the files successfully. I put it in, booted, selected "Boot from USB" and it's stuck at "Verifying DMI Pool Data..."
with that wonderfull flashing underscore under.
I'm not going to ****** myself with installing via DVD, so I'm wondering why is it not working with USB? *sigh*

Help is welcome

Hi DarkLord,

I'm not sure why it takes a while...when I installed vista at home, it installed off DVD in about 40 minutes.
At work it installed off DVD in about 6 hours...I'm just too lazy to figure out why it took so long..as it works perfectly fine now

Thanks for the replies,

It was a bad DVD burn, took me another 4 DVDs before it worked. Though I'm rather upset at the fact it installed 32bit and not 64bit, but oh well.

However now my problem is my mic has no mic boost even with the latest drivers from Creative for the Live! 24bit card. Under the Custom tab in the mic properties there's only "Do not monitor" there *sigh*
