Default Powerpoint (Office 2007)

Hello,

I have a quick question. I have a macro where it is letting me insert the date and time so it automatically updates each second.

here is my code

$WEEKDAY, $MONTHNAME $DAY, $HH:$MM:$SS $AMPM

but how do I insert my script code into the powerpoint.

In word you can do cntrl-F9 to get the curly braces up to insert the code, but in powerpoint it doesn't work.

Please help,
Ello

P.S. You should create some office forums

Hi Ello,

To my knowledge Powerpoint doesn't support Macros, this is just Word and Excel.
I'll double check with my Office here, but I'm fairly certain about it.

Yes, it fully supports it, just hard to use

I just need to know where powerpoint stores its hidden code for the date so I can replace it with mine.

Thank you,
Ello

Hey Guys,

@Gar - Sorry M8, but PowerPoint not only supports Macros, it's an important part of the package. LOL. But then jeeze, if you knew everything you would be impossible.

@Ello - You may be overthinking how you need to get powerpoint to insert the updated time stamp. Epson has a great article on how to record a macro in PowerPoint, it's really easy.

Also, you can enter the macro using VBA, just go to Tools, Macros, Visual Basic Editor, and if you click on the View Code button under Project, you should be able to edit your time macro threre.

Looking forward to your reply,

TTFN

See I am using an automatic date updater. (So it updates the seconds and stuff). But I want to know how I can insert my date because I want it to show the Day, day number, Month, Time (all the way down to seconds). The code I have supports it, but the dates that you select on powerpoint don't match what I want. Which is why I need to view the source so I can put in my custom one :P

Hey Guys,

@Ello - I know what you want to do, that's why I gave you the information on using the VBE. That will show you where the code is, after you record the macro. Also, the date and time all the way down to the seconds, is under Insert, on the menu bar, Date and Time. Once there, click on Update Automatically, then scroll down next to the shown time, and it will give you a list to choose from.

Looking forward to your reply,
