I want to be able to record using waveout or w/e similar. I have Vista, and I have sound, but I see no options for it.

I did the whole "click on disabled devices" but its not there.

Have you tried rebooting after you have selected the 'Show Disabled Devices'? I know someone that had trouble with this. They selected it and nothing showed however when they rebooted the option appeared. I don't know if it would work for you but it's definatly worth a try.

Well the very first time I went to try and click on the 'show disabled devices' it was already checked...And I've rebooted plenty of times before. I honestly don't think that's it.

Have you tried unchecking and then checking it again? It's best to try the basics first on these types of problems.

I'm still wondering whether I have to buy some type of hardware to be able to have the normal wave out, etc. options, since I have none of them as shown in the pictures above.
