Hi all!

I just installed Vista Home Premium today, and my microphone does not work! Does anybody know what might cause this? It recognizes that it is plugged in (though it claims to be plugged in in the back, it is actually plugged in in the front), but no sound can get through it!

System:

Inter Core 2 Duo 2.13ghz
nVidia GeForce 7900 GS
Soundblaster Audigy card (Vista does not recogize this is here, and calls it a High Def Audio device. I tried to install drivers, but they did not see it either. this could be the root of the problem, though the sound actually works, just not the mic.)

Are you using a vista driver for this or an XP one?

Download the latest from here:
Customer Support: Downloads

Creative have some beta drivers floating around for Vista, you could try them. Then report back here.

Yes, drivers were the issue. Dell put a generic "equivilant" to the sound card i ordered in, and so the drivers for the sound card did not work. I got it fixed.
