Default Burning Cd'd And Dvd's In Windows Vista

Hi

I have just invested in windows vista anf I am finding difficulty with recording onto blank cds and dvds. I have two DVD-RW drives installed on my pc and when i place blank dics into them there is no response, when I try and double click on them I get a message that says that they need formatting, however I can find no program within windows vista that tells you how to format them. In windows XP if you right clicked on the drive and then on the recording TAB you could enable the drivefor recodring, but in windows vista when you right click on the drive there is no recordring TAB.

please help me

Rowland

Vista's WOW factor is seriously flawed, so you will be better off buying a burning programme like Nero...

I had that same problem. The other problem that I had was that my older version of Nero would not work either.
Once again, if you don't have a real reason to get Vista, don't get it until you get a new computer.

Welcome to the PCHF rowland

Yup, I'm using Nero 7 and it has compatability issues...the only thing i can't do that i've found is burn an audio CD...which is no great loss, because i burn mp3s to a cd nowa days and listen to them in my car...
