Default Uninstalling unwanted programs on Vista

So I've upgraded my laptop to Vista today (my boss needed me to) and I have to admit that I'm pleasantly surprised however I am experiencing one problem which I cant seem to get my head around.

Having installed Vista I now wish to unistall some of my old unused programs one of which being PowerDirector 5, however when I go into Add/Remove programs and select it I receive an error message saying that it is only compatible with Windows 2000 and above.

I checked the microsoft online help and it advised that I can trick the program into thinking it runs on an older machine via its properties but unfortunatley this feature is disabled for the uninstaller.

Anyone know any other ways to uninstall an unwanted pregram (deleting it wont work either)

Welcome to PCHF ooALoo!

Try finding the uninstaller (might be something like unwise.exe) in program files in the program directory and double clicking that rather than using Add/remove Programs.

You may also want to try this regarding any other uninstalls you wish to do.

Thank you, I've tried both suggestions but still no joy - I've resorted to emailing the manufacturer to see if the have any suggestions or are coming up with a patch.
