Hi can anyone plz help i have a standard pc with windows vista rc1 running fine but im having a problem with a higher spec pc trying to run vista. The higher spec pc has a dual core 3.4GHz processor, 1 Gig of ram, 80 Gig sata hard disk drive and a bigger graphics card than the standard pc. The only thing that is really different in the 2 pc's is the highes spec one has a sata hdd and the standard one has an ide hdd, I have tryed both 32 bit and 64 bit operating systems and still no joy. I have also noticed it takes a long time even to install vista on the higher spec pc so i was thinking is it the hdd but i have xp running on it and it run's fine. I haven updated the bios yet but the motherboard dual core processor and ram came as one package so im thinking the bios should be ok.

Is that your only OS running on that hard drive or partition?

By looking at your specs, it appears that you could be shy on RAM. I can't think of what the minimum is, but I'm running a gig now and I could use more.
Did you get RC2? I was one of the luckey few that got it.

I have enough ram to run vista as it is a Gig and I'm running vista with 700 MB of ram in my older computer. Yes i have the hard disk partitioned into C and D drive and have windows xp running perfectly fine on the C drive. I don't have vista rc2. Have u any more suggestions it is a weird problem because even to install it on this computer takes a long time its very slow.
