That's what I thought and they start at like 1.86 GHz or something for a desktop and I upgraded it a few times to get the 2.4. The only thing higher I saw available was the 2.6 GHz but seeing as how I don't even need the 2.4 I stuck with that I probably upgraded everything more than I needed to, but I love to get "cutting edge" that also fits in a college students budget.

The 1.86ghz is really fast aswell! Im going for an E6300 (1.86) build soon probably. Look for benchies here: Tom's Hardware Guide Processors: CPU Charts 2006 .

Surfing the web with Firefox is fine but WMP11 crashes every time. I will say that overall RC2 seems as good as XP, but I'm not going to pay for it. XP is just fine for now.
if you are haveing problems with your Video drives then it may cause stablilty issues with thing like media player see if you can get new drivers for your video card and preferbley one's that are made for vista then im sure WMP11 will sort it self out.

I've already gone through this with the good people here at PCHF and I did have the best drivers for the system. The conclusion was that maybe I was a bit shy on RAM. Or it could just be one of those "because it's a Beta" things. I have the most up to date stuff on it.

might be then my WMP11 was fine for me tho so it is intresting wich beta was it out of intrest or was it an RC.
