Default Video Driver Issues

Calling the very few Vista experts here,
I installed Windows Vista RC2 32 bit on my 2nd hard drive to boot with Windows XP. See my computer specs with the dropdown menu there.
Anyway, it seems to run really well, I'm halfway impressed with it. However, Media Center is giving me some issues, it stutters a lot. I've read in places that it could have to do with your Video driver. I pulled out the CD that came with my video card and reinstalled the Windows XP driver rather than the one that came with Vista and Media Center and other DVD players work perfectly, but I lost Aero functionality and other major Vista specialties. After reinstalling the Vista driver, it's back to the way it was.
Any ideas here?
Thanks.

Telling us the make and model of your video card would be a good start...

It's there in the My PC Dropdown menu.
It's nVidia GeFORCE FX 5500 with 256 video ram.

For Vista with all the bells and whistles enabled-- you might be a hair shy on system RAM.
A lot of what I've read recommends 1 gig as minimum.

XP recommended 256MB - I always double the minimum for MY minimum =512 MB is the least I would run for XP.

I figure 2 Gigs for Vista... of course processor/Video card will affect it, too-- But you have a fast chip.

The driver that Arctos reccomended was the one that came with it.

Never thought about the RAM though, that is a very good point. Having nothing else on the computer could be the reason that it's running smoothly in non intensive programs like Explorer and Firefox. Maybe if I loaded a bunch of software on it then it will bog down.

More RAM is next Christmas Black Friday shopping goal
