otester - linux is all personal preference.
just like amd/intel

one person will say "this version is best because it has this feature" while the next says "this is best because it has this feature"

Best bet is to see if you can try a couple of different versions for yourself...

I've installed SUSE on a mates computers before and found it fairly easy to get around, installing driver etc. looked kinda good for appearance.

I played with slackware, SLAX, Mandriva 10 and Fedora Core 5, so far I'm liking fc 5 the most. I have it only in a virtual PC though, don't wanna install the whole thing until I'm more familiar. Eventually I'll get it though

I have the Vista RC2 installed on another partition right now, I'll be playing with that until they send me a fully licensed DVD then install that, but I won't completely switch until much more compatibility.

Go Vista Ultimate, my 'puter rules.

Due to the Microsoft Action Pack we have at work, we get every single version of Vista, so Ultimate is coming my way too
But I do too much production work on my computer at home to have it down for an hour while I install RC2 and then again when Vista is released

- your computer's not bad
