Does AVG 7.5 Free detect and remove Rootkits, Nod32 does this and it is well the money for this feature alone...

Free is ok if you want to take your chances, then it's also a good chance that you will posting on a forum like this one for help.

Personally if I was going to pay upto $300.00 plus for Vista, I would go for the best AV that is out there. This why I use and recommend Nod 32 for Win XP and the new Vista...
