Default [Answered] Help with device drivers

After I installed Vista some of device drivers are missing or not updated so I updated and installed a few of them. But just not my Ehternet Controller, I'm assuming that the Ethernet Controller is for my Ethernet card. I have SBC DSL and when i registered they sent me an ethernet card and an installation disck, well I dont have it anymore so I dont know how to resolve this issue.

When I go to device manager there's an exclamation mark by the Ehternet controller, this causes my browser to not work some of the times, I have no idea why or how. Please help me out.

I have another ethernet card, the original one that came with the computer but i've never used it and it's not working or not turned on or something. It'd be a second way to resolve my problem if you guys can show me how to turn on my original thernet card, or diagnosed it to see if it's still working. Waiting for you replies, thankx much in advance.

Hi sntinman87!

The exclamation mark means that there's no driver installed for that device.

Have you got a clue on what type the network card is?

You may be able to download the driver (on another PC) then, and install the card.

Howdy Sntinman87, the problem with Vista, is it's still publically in beta 2 stage. Which means there's no real support out there for the older hardware.

One of the reasons why I'm not using it is because my Audigy2 wouldn't work with the drivers that creative had released for it.

If there's no support on the manufacturers website, then you won't have any luck unfortunatly.
